Self Denial

Matthew 10:38 (NASB-U)
"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

Luke 14:27 (NASB-U) "Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

Matthew 16:24-25 (NASB-U) Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. [25] "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Mark 8:34-35 (NASB-U) And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. [35] "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.

Luke 9:23-24 (NASB-U) And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. [24] "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.

Luke 17:33 (NKJV) Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

John 12:24-25 (NKJV) Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. [25] He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

Acts 20:24 "I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."

Acts 21:13 "I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus." Esther 4:16 And if I perish, I perish."

Romans 6:6 (NASB-U) knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;

Romans 8:13 "For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,"

Romans 8:36 (NASB-U) Just as it is written,"For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

Romans 12:1 (NASB-U) Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

Romans 14:8 (NASB-U) for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18 (NASB-U) For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not in cleverness of speech, so that the cross of Christ would not be made void. [18] For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 15:31 (NASB-U) I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Galatians 2:20 (NASB-U) "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Galatians 5:24 (NASB-U) "Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Galatians 6:14 (NASB-U) But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Philippians 1:21 (NASB-U) For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. ~

Matthew 10:28 "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Luke 12:4-5 "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him."
